matterbetter recently put a call out for designers and architects to conceive an improved lighthouse that would also serve as a monument to the Costa Concordia disaster, which involved an Italian cruise ship capsizing and sinking, with the loss of 32 lives.

A novel concept for a sort of leaning skyscraper has won this year's DawnTown design competition, which asked entrants to dream up iconic landmarks for the city of Miami.
