A plan to build a barrier across the Mersey is starting to take shape. If it goes ahead, the ambitious project would becomes the largest tidal range facility in the world, while also offering pedestrians and cyclists safe passage across the river.

London collective Assemble has become the first architecture firm to be awarded the Turner Prize, in honor of its work on the Granby Four Streets redevelopment project in Toxteth, Liverpool.

Earlier this year we heard about a multi-story skatepark set to take skaters to another level. A new skatepark in the Everton area of Liverpool, UK, however, is on another level itself. Designed by South Korean artist Koo Jeong A, Evertro is said to be the UK's first glow-in-the-dark skatepark.
