A University of Rochester team says it's come up with a relatively cheap and easy way to build rotating, city-sized space habitats that's technically feasible using current technologies. All you need to do, it seems, is turn an asteroid inside out.

The first 3D printer in space has run off its first object aboard the ISS. The item was a faceplate embossed with "NASA and Made In Space, Inc" and is part of a NASA effort aimed at producing spare parts for long-range space flights and greatly simplifying mission logistics.
