Muscle Cars

  • One of America's iconic muscle cars is getting a refresh. The new 2019 Camaro greets the world with a big, new smile and earns itself a new Turbo 1LE option, as well as a couple of technology additions and upgrades. In short, the 2019 Camaro is smarter, slicker and more track-ready than ever.
  • Dodge likes to build muscular-looking vehicles and then make special editions that live up to that look. Adding on some kind of blackout or gunmetal color further enhances that appeal. The Durango SRT is the latest in the “shove horses under the hood” phenomenon that is Dodge.
  • Restorations of classic cars are in vogue at the moment, and Shelby American is keen to get in on the action. The team behind the 1965 GT350R, dubbed the Original Venice Crew, will build 36 recreations of that car with an independent suspension setup originally designed by Ford in 1964.
  • There are three things to know about the Challenger Hellcat: it’s fast, it’s loud, and you’re going to have to budget for speeding tickets. These attributes also mean that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is extreme amounts of fun and wherever you go, heads will turn to look.
  • Australia will be saying farewell to Holden this year, spelling the death of locally developed rear-drive performance cars Down Under – and in the UK. The Vauxhall VXR8 GTS-R will be the last Aussie muscle car sold in the UK, but its 600 hp engine means it won't be going quietly into the night.
  • Dodge set the internet alight with the Demon earlier this year, but it's been busy on other projects as well. It doesn't get the full gamut of drag features from the Demon, but the new Hellcat Widebody borrows from its unhinged big brother to deliver more grip and a meaner, more imposing stance.
  • Ahead of the annual Carroll Shelby Tribute & Car Show, Shelby American has unveiled two new vehicles. The Mustang Super Snake wide body and F-150 Super Snake are both predictably brash, not to mention absurdly powerful, thanks to hulking great V8 engines shoehorned under their respective hoods.
  • Bo and Luke Duke may have been driving a Charger back in the day, but the 1969 Charger's successor is definitely the current-generation Challenger. Put behind the wheel of the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT in bright orange paint – as we drove it – you may want to change your name, too.
  • With the 840-hp Demon, you'd think Dodge would have the most powerful new muscle car at the New York Auto Show. But you'd be wrong. Trans Am Worldwide has revealed a wild project that combines GM underpinnings, 1970s Pontiac Firebird Trans Am looks, and 1,000 hp of supercharged V8 muscle.
  • After one of the longest teases in history, Dodge has unchained the Demon in New York. As predicted, it's one of the wildest production cars ever created, with 840 hp (626 kW) being put to a set of drag radials. Meet the new king of all-American performance.
  • We usually loathe long teasers, but we're willing to overlook that fact when it comes to the Dodge Demon. The hyper-Hellcat will debut at the New York Auto Show, but a stream of details means we already have an idea of what the car will be like. Suffice to say, Demon seems like an appropriate name.
  • Muscle cars have come a long way from humble roots, to the point where you can buy one built to scare Porsche owners on the track. Although it doesn't go quite as far as the bonkers Z/28 from last generation, the Camaro ZL1 1LE takes an impressive package and hones it for work on the track.
