If most of your car trips are short and made at lower speeds, perhaps you don't need a full-on automobile. A less-expensive Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) may suffice, and US startup Wink Motors has just announced a new line of the critters.

The founders of Squad Mobility left Lightyear to pursue a more affordable EV designed to potentially impact the lives of millions of urban commuters. What they've come up with is an electric, four-wheel roll-cage called the Squad (Solar Quad).

National Electric Vehicle Sweden, which purchased Saab's assets back in 2012, is using CES Asia to show its vision of autonomous commuting. Owning a car is out in this vision, and vehicles not only pick you up and drop you off autonomously, they change their interiors around your needs and whims.
