Italian design house Pininfarina is usually associated with supercars such as Ferraris. Now, however, the company has teamed up with Austrian mobility firm Benteler to produce an autonomous electric shuttle known as the Holon.

EasyMile has been developing and testing its driverless shuttle at various locations around the world, and has now added another feather to its cap, becoming the first vehicle authorized to operate without a human driver on public roads in France.

At the online-only CES 2021 earlier this month, German mobility startup Sono Motors revealed a collaboration with EasyMile to install its solar technology on driverless shuttles. Now we have a few more details.

Sony and Yamaha Motor have joined forces to create a self-driving people mover named the SC-1, which will roll out in Japan later this year.

​EasyMile's EZ10 self-driving shuttle buses have already been trialled in Singapore, California, Switzerland, and Finland. Now, one has also entered use in what is being called regional Australia’s first automated vehicle trial.

MIT spin-off Optimus Ride has announced today that its autonomous shuttles will shortly be transporting workers around geofenced areas of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and ferrying residents along defined routes in the 80 acre private community of Paradise Valley Estates in Fairfield, CA.
