This month's LA Auto Show offered a look at the car technologies of the future – fuel cells, hybrid powertrains and self-driving systems. Of course, there was plenty of flash and hot styling, too.

VIA Motors has revealed a tonneau cover for its eREV40 electric pickup truck that packs solar panels. The company claims the device adds an extra 10 miles (16 km) of all-electric driving range to its vehicle.
