Audi is gearing up for this year's Nürburgring 24 Hours by celebrating its 2015 victory and the close relationship between its R8 race cars and R8 production sports cars. The R8 LMS GT3 debuted to rule the day (and night) at Nürburgring last year, besting BMW by 40 seconds after the race saw 35 lead changes. The all-new R8 V10 plus "selection 24h" limited edition celebrates this victory with upgraded standard equipment and a race-inspired aesthetics package.

Built on the 601-hp R8 V10 plus, which shares much of its design with the R8 LMS GT3 car, the "selection 24h" boasts standard dynamic steering, laser lighting, sport exhaust and magnetic ride adaptive damping.

The new R8 V10 plus special also gets a race-inspired cosmetics package that gives it a super-sharp look. The tricolor car wears subtle Suzuka grey paint, Mythos black detailing and Misano red accents. Gloss-finish carbon fiber covers parts like the side blades, front splitter, mirror housings and rear wing. The side blades also feature matte-finish "R8 24h" badging. The car rides on 20-in forged aluminum wheels with a 10-Y spoke design and gloss anthracite black paint.

Inside, rotor gray leather, Alcantara, gloss-finish carbon fiber and "R8 24h" badging dress the cabin. The illuminated carbon fiber door sill trims include limited edition numbering, and door entry lights welcome the driver and passenger by shining the R8 logo on the ground

Audi will debut the R8 V10 plus selection 24h at this year's Nürburgring 24 Hours event, which runs from May 26 to May 29. It will build a limited production run of 24 cars for the world market.
