Bushnell Yardage Pro Range Finder

View 2 Images

June 3, 2004 The Bushnell Yardage Pro Rangefinder provides a solution to the age-old golfing problem of being 'a club too short' or a 'club too long' and completely missing the target despite hitting the ball straight. Used like a set of binoculars with a targeting site in the view-finder for pinpointing the object, Yardage Pro Rangefinders have many applications from including mapping, surveying, hunting, boating and golf.

The Yardage Pro 1000 model is the most powerful in the range weighing 380g. It is capable of accurately measuring distances up to 900 metres and it features 6X magnification and four modes of operation including scan and rain modes. Accurate to within a metre, performance of the rangefinder varies depending on how reflective the target is - for example the Yardage Pro is capable of measuring the distance to a tree at 900 metres, but will only operate at a distance of 320 metres when measuring the distance to the flag.

The design is compact, weatherproof and durable and a multi-functional LCD with automatic shut off and a built in tripod mount adds versatility. The catch is of course that knowing how far your target is away doesn't necessarily equate to hitting the ball that distance, but the Yardage Pro is not solely for the experienced golfer - those of us still trying to master the elusive art of hitting the ball in the right direction before we become too particular about club selection will also find it handy to know how far away that fairway bunker or water hazard is.

The Bushnell Yardage Pro is available now.
