The Cartonado is a flatpack lamp which, electrics aside, is made entirely from corrugated cardboard.
Though we've seen cardboard light fixtures before (the 01Lamp, for example), the Cartonado, designed by Portugese outfit Vicara, has a certain elegant simplicity. Made entirely from flat pieces of cardboard which slot together, the Cartonado lamp measures 35 x 30 x 30 cm (13.8 x 11.8 x 11.8 in).
The Cartonado also comes as a suspended lampshade, cut to a variety of different shapes from the simple to the ornate (or as ornate as corrugated cardboard gets.)
We're not precisely clear as to the commercial availability of Vicara's designs, but we've dropped them a line to find out and will let you know here if we hear more.
