Most of the automotive world's attention is currently focused on New York, but there's also another international auto show going on right now. The Bangkok Motor Show is the host of the new Chevy Colorado Xtreme, a tough, off-road-ready Colorado show truck in the vein of the ZR2. This dirt-starved pickup features hardened looks and performance inside and out, and while Chevy won't be selling it, the concept does preview the design of the upcoming global-market Colorado update.

Chevrolet Sales Thailand did the reveal work on the Colorado Xtreme at this week's 37th Bangkok International Motor Show. The show truck features bright-orange paint accented by black components, including a snorkel shooting up from the front fender flare, a roof rack with light bar and a big ol' hood scoop. The truck also includes a front skid plate, 18-in mud terrain tires, rock rails and a bed filled with a spare tire and mounted shovel.

All that off-road awesomeness is really just mild camouflage for what's underneath: a preview of the Chevy/Holden Colorado facelift headed to markets like Thailand and Australia. Compared to the current model, the new design incorporates a stronger, more integrated face in line with the US-market Colorado. It appears that other aspects of the body, like the rounded arches and bed panels, will keep their distance from the US truck design and remain more like the current global Colorado.

Inside the Colorado Xtreme, the orange and blacks of the exterior continue, joined by an 8-in color touchscreen-based MyLink system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There's also an inclinometer, new auxiliary gauges and a passenger grab handle.

I hate it when they make concepts that are soooooo nice and exactly what I want but then they won't sell it that way!
That's why I hate concepts they almost never come to the market.

Cool looking. But when oh when will someone finally build a competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, with a removable roof? If you really go off road, you know how much fun it is to have the top off and locking diffs and a winch.

Does anyone else notice for an American Model which only ever does LHD unless required why would it be in LHD especially for a concept, maybe this is the option HSV will get. one is hoping
