Despite various companies' hopes that people will buy their fancy camping-specific torches, the fact is that most campers' fire-starting needs are met quite nicely with a good ol' Bic lighter. That doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement on that front, though. Exotac's Firesleeve makes such lighters tougher, and easier to use.
The reusable grippy rubber device is designed specifically to fit over a disposable Bic lighter, sealing out water (when capped) to the point that the lighter will stay dry even when submerged for 30 minutes at a depth of three feet (0.9 m). Also, should it be dropped into the water, it will float.
The Firesleeve additionally features a strap-like part that can be looped over the lighter's gas button to keep it lit. Users would ordinarily have to keep their thumb on the button to do that, which could get a bit warm after a while, plus it would keep them from performing two-handed tasks. In the event that they don't want the button to be pressed accidentally, they just put the Firesleeve's cap back on over top.
Of course, being an outdoors product, it also has the ubiquitous attachment points for carrying straps or carabiners.
The Firesleeve is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign, with units now being shipped to backers. You can preorder one from the upcoming first full-scale production run, for US$15.

I suggested to Biolite when they were in the prototype stage that they build in a flint/plunger-striker, and maybe even a tinder box. They didn't. I didn't buy.
