Standing up on an electric scooter may give you better situational awareness as you zip around, but sitting down is less tiring if you've got a long way to go. Well, the Metro Shark allows you to do both, transitioning from one configuration to the other in just a few seconds.
To go from sitting to standing mode, you just take off the seat and store it in a zippered compartment below the handlebars, then push down on the foot platform so that it sits flat. It's that simple.
The scooter itself is made from aircraft aluminum, has a top speed of 25 km/h (16 mph), and can reportedly go at least 30 km (19 miles) on one charge of its battery. It tips the scales at a total weight of 25 kg (55 lb).
It's available in a choice of five colors – in select markets – for US$555.
