The MULTI is a new wallet that aims to pack as many features as possible into a tiny package. To start with, it's a minimalistic wallet made with high-strength aluminum or titanium, depending on the model. However, it also offers a ton of other functions, most of which are things you would never expect to see in a wallet.

The creators of the MULTI list a total of 12 different functions, one of which is holding credit and debit cards as a wallet. It can also be used as a flat or Phillips head screwdriver, a nested wrench (in SAE or metric), a two-inch ruler, a bottle opener, a twist top opener, a wing nut wrench, a smartphone tablet stand, a can top popper, a box opener, and a keychain.

Using it as a smartphone or tablet stand will require a few steps. The middle piece keeps the tablet propped up, and the credit card on the inside sticks out to keep the tablet or smartphone in place while the device is in use.

Wilson Alvarez, the man behind the MULTI, is currently seeking funding for his do-it-all wallet on Kickstarter. The goal is only US$2,600, and pledges are already well over $1,500. It's available in two options, the first of which is the $40 aluminum model. The MULTI is also available in titanium, but it comes with a much higher price tag of $75.

The device has no blade as such and therefor should pass the TSA. It's no more dangerous then a rectangular metal belt buckle.

anyway (as I've seen on the news) the TSA allows small knives on board these days. Up to 2.36 inches or 6 centimeters, I think. I would still be weary of that though---you might be the one they strip search.

This item will never 'fly'' because it would be considered a tool and would be confiscated by airline personnel.

Love the idea, disappointed by the execution. It looks like the decision to make it an actual WALLET was something of an afterthought - the card holding bit looks wonky and ill-designed, and it has no ability whatsoever to hold coins.
What possible use is a wallet that doesn't hold coins?

Sorry people, I meant TSA not HS, but living in Australia forgot there is supposed to be a difference. Can't see either organisation loving the idea though. How is the argument about subway system and bus station searching going lately?

I don't know {if you are a man} what the big deal is about being strip searched!!! Lets pretend we are going to the clothing optional Hot Springs or Nude Beach.....Just get naked just B4 you get 2 the search area........I mean if they want 2 see my not-so-pretty naked hairy old saggy butt then let them....if you ain't trying to take anything illegal......then what you trying to hide?What makes your body any different than mine? If we all ran around sans clothing they wouldn't be so search happy.....
