We've taken a close look at the gorgeous concepts cars that turned heads during Monterey Car Week 2016, now it's time for a stroll down memory lane – or more specifically, a stroll along the 18th fairway at Pebble Beach to take in some of the finest specimens in automotive history at this years' Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance draws over 200 magnificent cars and thousands of visitors. Highlights of the 2016 event included 19 original Ford GT40s, a gathering of Bizzarrinis, works from Delahaye, Chapron Coachwork and Lamborghini, plus classic BMWs of both the two- and four-wheeled variety.
The 2016 winner for Best of Show went to a 1936 Lancia Astura Pinin Farina Cabriolet. With over six years of restoration under the hood, Eric Clapton Lancia former ride beat out a red 1938 Delahaye 165 Figoni & Falaschi Cabriolet and a black 1931 Stutz DV-32 LeBaron Convertible Victoria for the win. The Lancia also picked up other awards in the European Classic Early category and the Gwenn Graham Most Elegant Convertible Award.
