The current Mustang introduced electronic line lock to drag racers, but that's no longer the only piece of tech Ford offers for a quicker run down the strip – now it's giving the Mustang Drag Strip mode.

Having announced the Expedition in Chicago, Ford has treated off-road enthusiasts to a tougher FX4 package. With better underbody protection and a proper rear differential, the Expedition FX4 should couple the efficiency of the standard car with the ability to handle difficult off-road trails.

With clever four-wheel drive and a manic engine, the Focus RS is already one of the craziest hatches on the road. Unfortunately, production is coming to an end – and Ford wants to send it out on a high. Along with a new paint finish, the RS has been fitted with a limited-slip front differential.

They might have a reputation for being dinosaurs, but family four-wheel drives are getting smarter. The new Ford Expedition has grown in every direction, but an aluminum-intensive body and smarter powertrain options mean it uses less fuel, tows more weight and handles better than before.

The Ford F-150 wasn't looking even remotely old, but Ford has used the Detroit Auto Show to release an update. Although it looks like the current model, the new F-150 is a smarter animal. Not content with one truck, Ford also announced the return of Bronco, which will be arriving a with a Ranger.

Ford's EcoBoost engines return small-engine fuel efficiency with big-engine power outputs. Now, the smallest EcoBoost engine is getting smaller – albeit for brief periods of time – thanks to cylinder deactivation.

The current Ford Fiesta has been kicking around since 2008, making it a dinosaur. It handles well, but modern buyers want more than a ​keen chassis, they want easy connectivity and lots of interior space. Ford has aimed to tick those boxes with the new Fiesta.

​Ford was one of the first to get on board the compact four-wheel bandwagon, but its first attempt at the wasn't successful. It wasn't pretty on the outside and felt cheap on the inside, especially compared to excellent cars like the Mazda CX-3. Finally, Ford has given the EcoSport a refresh.

Thanks to Ford Performance, a Mustang update has arrived in the form of a power-boosting package for both the EcoBoost and GT V8. Along with increases in power, the packages bring a huge torque bump and flat shift capability to the table.

By now, we're familiar with the benefits of Ford's EcoBoost downsizing – more power, more torque and less weight. The latest EcoBoost V6 to make its way into the F-150 is more efficient and torquier than V8s almost twice the size.

The 2017 Ford F-150 pickup truck will include the latest-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine as an option, adding 30 lb-ft of torque to its output. This will mate to a new 10-speed automatic transmission to aid performance and capitalize on the now best-in-class torque values of the new engine.

Ford has launched a new EcoBlue diesel engine promising a 13 percent improvement in fuel economy to go with its improved refinement and performance.
