Neural radiance field (NeRF) technology is starting to show some incredible capabilities in turning 2D images and videos into 3D models, but University of Maryland researchers are taking things to another level, using nothing but eye reflections.

A technology-enthusiast has invented a Nerf gun turret that can automatically track and shoot down small drones. The ingenious contraption uses a Kinect v2 sensor and a milled steel two-axis gimbal, all controlled by software based on the OpenCV AI library.

Hasbro has revealed the N-Strike Elite Nerf Cam ECS-12 Blaster, the first of its foam dart firing guns to feature a built-in camera for recording a gun's-eye view of the action, and a screen for watching it back.

The Nerf Vulcan Sentry Gun automatically locates targets and unleashes a stream of foam darts at over seven times the usual speed, but allows its owner to pass by unscathed.
