"Compact" medium-format camera launched as a pricey travel companion

Denmark's Phase One has unveiled its "most compact digitally integrated camera to date." The 150-MP XC can be had with a color or black-and-white digital back, and sports an integrated – rather than interchangeable – lens. And it's very expensive.

The XT camera system from Phase One comes in three parts. There's an IQ4 back, the XT camera body and out front one of three new lenses.

The iXM 100MP is reported compatible with a "wide range of UAV platforms, including Phase One’s DJI Matrice 600 Pro solution."

As evidenced by SkyPixel's best of 2017, drones have opened up a new means of expression for creative photographers. Denmark's Phase One isn't pitching its latest drone camera at enthusiasts though, the iXM 100MP metric camera has been designed for mapping, surveying and inspection applications.
