If you're preparing food on an automated production line, then that line had better be clean. A new autonomous robot was designed with this in mind, as it actually learns how to clean better over time.

​​One problem with teaching robots to walk over uneven terrain is that what works in one setting may not fly in another. One solution would be to have the robot teach itself as it goes, which is exactly the approach researchers at Arizona State University have taken with their so-called C-Turtle.

This month, the public will get the chance to meet a robot at the Natural History Museum in London that is designed to learn about its surroundings and make it easier to work human environments.
