High-profile Japanese architect Kengo Kuma has turned his considerable talent to shipping container-based architecture for the first time to produce this new Starbucks. The project is located in Taiwan and will function as a drive-thru in a soon to be opened shopping mall.

Starbucks has launched its AI-powered voice ordering interface for mobile ordering and paying. Soon, Starbucks app users will be able to remotely order drinks just like they would from an in-store barista.

After trialling PowerMats in a number of Boston coffee shops in 2012, Starbucks has today announced plans to install the wireless charging pads in every one of its US stores. The development might just make searching under tables and chairs for that elusive outlet a thing of the past.

Apparently not content with putting a coffee shop on every second street corner, Starbucks has teamed with Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) to expand into rail travel with the unveiling of the first railway carriage converted into a Starbucks.

Starbucks is to trial wireless charging maps at 17 stores in and around Boston during the holiday season.
