November 23, 2007 Getting kids to brush their teeth is no easy task, which is why Tiger Electronics has introduced a little fun to oral care with Toothtunes - a collection of musical toothbrushes that transmit music from the bristles, through the teeth into the inner ear. Songs last for two minutes, the amount of time generally recommended by dentists for a thorough clean.
Songs are stored on a micro chip and Toothtunes works using patented Denta-Mandibular Sound Transmission technology which transmits music vibrations from the bristles to the inner ear. There are over 25 Toothtunes toothbrushes currently available, including titles from artists such as Black Eyed Peas, KISS, Queen, Hilary Duff and Kelly Clarkson.
In addition to trying to promote good oral hygiene among kids, Toothtunes also encourage saving water by recommending users “turn off the water while brushing for a better sound and a better planet”. Toothtunes brushes retail for USD$9.99/AUD$15.99 and are found anywhere that toothbrushes are normally sold. When the brush head wears out and it's time for a new toothbrush, kids can not only update their brush but update which artist they would like to listen to.
