He has a masters degree in Welsh, which is exactly as useful as you might imagine – hence his living in Southern England and writing mostly about motorcycles and travel. He has written for more than a dozen publications around the world, in addition to having worked as part of Harley-Davidson's marketing team. He's also a somewhat decent trombone player.
