November 14, 2008 SteelSeries has unveiled the first ever gaming mouse aimed at the global community of World of Warcraft (WoW) Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) players. Co-designed with WoW publisher Blizzard the MMO Gaming Mouse features advanced macro creation capabilities, six possible DPI settings, 16 million profile-specific illumination colors and manages to squeeze in15 programmable buttons to give players that extra edge.
The mouse’s graphic user interface is designed to be familiar to WoW players, with a look and feel similar to the game’s interface. Illumination is tied to each profile for up to 10 different profiles with more than 16 million color choices. Using drag and drop software, players can program all 15 buttons with over 130 in-game WoW commands. The array of buttons includes a 4 way D pad on left side, a 2 way button on each side and a scroll wheel. The mouse supports real-time profile switching, import and export profile capability and independent X/Y axis sensitivity settings. It also features 6 counts per inch (CPI) settings at 800, 1200, 1600, 2000, 2400 and 3200 as well as 3 possible polling rate settings of 250, 500 or 1000 Hz.
For obsessive WoW players SteelSeries has even released some gaming surfaces to complement their mouse.
