30 March 2009 It’s ironic really that a tiny baby needs so much equipment. By the time you’ve packed diapers, wipes, spare clothes, toys and food, there’s not much room left in your diaper bag. So thinking about carrying a heavy baby seat on your next trip to the café is almost enough to put you off leaving home. With the Pocket Baby seat, at least your load will be somewhat lighter.
In the Pocket Baby is a portable baby seat that is lightweight and small enough to fit in your pocket. Designed for children aged from about six months to two years, the baby seat attaches to a normal dining chair in a flash.
You simply attach the seat to a chair using the straps and D-rings, making sure that the seat is fitted firmly to the back of the chair and the straps are firm. You then place your baby on the chair ensuring that the front of the seat is between the legs. The baby is secured when the buckles are fastened and then tightened.
The In the Pocket Baby seat is made from hard-wearing 100% polyester and is machine-washable. It weighs 140g (approx 0.3lbs) and comes in red, green, black or blue. The seat is priced at SEK389 (approx. USD$50 at time of publication). Unfortunately, the company does not ship to the United States or Canada at this point in time, so North American readers may need to find a European friend to ship one over.
