After years of bubbling online rumors, Sonos has finally revealed its first attempt to break into the overcrowded headphone market with the Ace wireless over-ears – which are clearly looking to dethrone the likes of Sony, Bose and Apple.

Rather than trail wires around the room for a home theater audio setup, Dolby's new technology pairs a big-screen television's own sound system with wireless speakers spread across the room – "transforming any seat into the best seat in the house."

The name Dolby Laboratories has long been associated with innovative and world-leading sound reproduction. Its latest creation, Atmos, has come at the perfect time to augment the unprecedented immersive experience of big screen 3D stereoscopic images.
