E3 Expo

E3 is always one of the biggest weeks of the year for game announcements, details and trailers. To get warmed up, New Atlas is diving into the crazy rumors, confirmed appearances and potential wild-cards of this year’s E3 expo.

E3 2018 aka Gamer Christmas, kicks off next week. ’Tis the season to gorge on new reveals, details and trailers gifted to us by Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and big publishers like EA, Ubisoft and Bethesda. New Atlas runs through the games confirmed, expected or suspected to be at the show.

​The biggest week on the gaming calendar is almost here – the E3 expo. New Atlas runs through the games we know, expect or hope will make an appearance this year, from the likes of Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Bethesda.

Microsoft used its E3 press conference to unveil its new SmartGlass technology that will use handheld devices such as smartphones and tablets as both an Xbox control device and as a second screen for the display of dynamic, rich information.

Sony is adding facial recognition software to Everquest II that will use a webcam to translate players' facial expressions, head movements, and voice onto their online avatar in real time.

Nintendo will show a playable model of the next-generation Wii gaming console at E3 Expo in June.
