German airline Lufthansa is overhauling the way its customers will experience international travel on its new Boeing 789 and Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with the Allegris project improving passenger comfort for business, first-class and economy flyers.

The company formerly known as Solo AVT is now Terraline. The name change signifies a shift in direction that sees the company put its autonomous program on the back burner while developing a 500-mile electric Class 8 truck for human drivers.

Newly-designed aircraft cabins for Swiss International Airlines are aimed at making long-haul flights more comfortable for holidaymakers and more productive for business travelers. Designed by PriestmanGoode, the cabins will provide passengers with more space, storage and privacy.

Mitsubishi Fuso has created a heavy-duty truck concept vehicle with the recognizably Japanese moniker of the Super Great HEV, that it claims offers an increase in fuel efficiency of up to 10 percent versus conventional diesel-only trucks.

Minix claims its design can save as much as 6% on an aircraft's energy costs. For a commercial Boeing 747, that equates to a saving of around 600,000 gallons of fuel - per year, per aircraft. Food for thought.
