Twas the night before Halloween, and Apple held a “spooky” event to announce some “scary fast” new products. The company unveiled its next generation chips, the M3 family, as well as the first iMacs and MacBooks that will feature them.

Apple has announced the latest version of the MacBook Pro, powered by a choice of the new M2 Pro or M2 Max chip. As compared to existing Intel- and M1-powered models, both versions offer a considerable boost in performance and battery life.

In June 2020, Apple revealed that its computing products were about to follow iPhones and iPads and use its own bespoke system-on-chip. Now the company has revealed the M1's successor, and the first models to benefit from a marked performance boost.

Apple has unveiled its new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, taking some huge steps forward as well as some very welcome steps back. It seems this US$2 trillion behemoth has done the last thing anyone expected – and actually listened to its customers.

Apple told us it was transitioning its computers away from Intel chips to its own custom-made Apple silicon in June, and today it launched the first models to make the switch: a new Mac mini, a new MacBook Air, and a new 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple just updated its 13-inch MacBook Pro laptops, with the new models boasting upgrades to the keyboard, as well as some improvements in terms of the processor, memory and storage options available to buyers.

Apple was true to form when it came to fitting the new MacBook Pro with ports, providing just four Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports and a 3.5-mm audio jack. That's where devices like the DGRule step in, to provide ports for any legacy peripherals.

Apple has upgraded its premium MacBook Pro laptop line, upping the screen size from 15.4 inches to 16, adding more powerful configurations, and – just maybe – fixing the keyboard woes that have been plaguing current versions of the portable computer.

Apple announced updates to the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro lines this week, and – just in time for the beginning of the North American school year –​ a Back to School promotion that shaves US$100 off the ticket price for students, and throws in a pair of $350 headphones for good measure.

There are new MacBook Pros in town, upgraded to fit the latest i5 and i7 processor chipsets from Intel, and with extra RAM and storage capacities to boot. As for the actual design of these laptops, that remains the same for now – and the Touch Bar is sticking around, too.

The new HyperDrive USB-C Hub is quite possibly the only extra connectivity accessory you'll ever need. As well as turning one USB-C port into a variety of eight ports, the device is a wireless charging stand for iPhone and Android smartphones.

Apple has announced hardware upgrades across its entire Mac line, including spec boosts for the iMac, the MacBook, and the MacBook Pro. The company also unveiled what it's calling its most powerful computer ever, a brand new iMac Pro.
