Having teased the concept back in 2012, the engineers in Stuttgart have brought the bootylicious Panamera Sport Turismo to production. With room for four people and their luggage it's eminently practical, but the Porsche genes under the skin should mean it handles too.

Porsche has been expanding its hybrid range since the 918 Spyder launch, giving Cayenne and Panamera buyers the option of a battery boost. Up until now, hybrid models had been based on less powerful V6 cars rather than the range-toppers. That changes with the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

Porsche might have received criticism when it released the first-generation Panamera, but the release of the second-generation model have refined the formula. The (now) very pretty Panamera has been treated to two new models: an entry level V6 and a new range-topping, long-wheelbase Executive.

Having transformed the Panamera from an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan, Porsche has decided to improved its environmental credentials as well. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid packs a sledgehammer punch, but can dial back the insanity and silently run on pure electric power.

It's been about seven years since the launch of the Porsche Panamera, and the time has officially come for an all-new model. The second-gen Porsche Panamera made its official world debut in Berlin on Tuesday, with Porsche redesigning its sporty four-door from the ground up.

Following in the footsteps of various iterations, including the Turbo S, the S E-Hybrid and long-wheelbase Exclusive, Porsche is rolling out three new additions to its Panamera model series, with more standard equipment and tweaked styling aimed at both the Western and Asian markets.

Porsche has given the world a look at one of the cars it will be showing at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show in the form of the Panamera Exclusive Series – a limited-run long wheelbase version of the 570 hp (425 kW) Panamera Turbo S.

Porsche has previewed the new Panamera Turbo S before its official debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. This upgraded trim level follows the usual "S" format of bolstering power and increasing performance.

Making its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show, Porsche's new Panamera S E-Hybrid stood front and center among its Panamera siblings: a now nine-strong lineup, refreshed for 2014.

The new Panamera Turbo S is the new top model in Porsche's Gran Turismo line and can go from a standing start to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 306 km/h (191 mph).
