After years of bubbling online rumors, Sonos has finally revealed its first attempt to break into the overcrowded headphone market with the Ace wireless over-ears – which are clearly looking to dethrone the likes of Sony, Bose and Apple.

Home audio brand Victrola snuggled up with Sonos back in 2022 with a streaming turntable designed to feed groovy tunes direct to Sonos speakers over a wireless connection. Now the company has expanded to Roon and beyond with the Stream Sapphire.

Following much chatter online, Sonos has now officially announced the successor to its One compact speaker, adding Bluetooth but losing Google Assistant, plus the company is also betting on spatial audio with the launch of the six-driver Era 300.

Sales of vinyl records are on the up, but many new listeners might also want to wirelessly stream albums around the home. Veteran audio brand Victrola has introduced a flagship turntable that can directly connect with Sonos speakers.

The collaboration that saw flat-pack furniture firm Ikea and wireless audio experts Sonos light up the Salone del Mobile in 2019 has returned with the second generation of the speaker-packing Symfonisk table lamp.

Ikea has teamed up with Sonos to add another product to the Symfonisk range that debuted in 2019 with a table lamp/speaker combo and a standalone streaming speaker. This time the collaboration has merged a picture frame with a Wi-Fi speaker.

The newest Sonos speaker is the brand's most compact and most portable yet – the Sonos Roam is designed to be carried anywhere, supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, is fully waterproof and can be yours for US$169.

Sonos is looking beyond the confines of the home with the introduction of the Move, which the company says "resets the bar for portable speakers."

Last month, Ikea and Sonos announced that they were collaborating on a new range of light and sound products. Now the Symfonisk range has debuted in Milan, and is made up of a table lamp with built-in wireless speaker and a small, versatile standalone streaming speaker.

The wireless audio experts at Sonos just unveiled their newest device: The Sonos Beam. Built specifically for the living room, and with Amazon Alexa functionality on board, it rolls the functions of a smart speaker and a soundbar into a single device.

Sonos has unveiled an Alexa speaker. Along with the ability to access Amazon's voice assistant, the speaker will be compatible with Google Assistant and Apple AirPlay from next year, making it one of the first devices to pull together the disparate digital assistants from various companies.
