Mazda has added a limited edition Miata to the model options for its two-seat roadster. The Mazda MX-5 Sport Recaro will be limited to 600 units and features exclusive sport styling enhancements.
The standard 2016 Mazda MX-5 "Miata" is shorter, lower and wider than the outgoing generation for the car, featuring the lowest center of gravity ever seen on the roadster. The new Sport Recaro is based on the upper trim Sport Nav edition of the MX-5, with several unique styling cues and inclusions not seen on any other Miata.
A sports aerodynamics kit, colored in Brilliant Black, adds a rear spoiler and skirts to the front, side, and rear. Door mirrors are Piano Black in color to accent 17-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels engraved with the MX-5 logo.
On the inside, an Alcantara dashboard panel is unique to this limited edition, as are the alloy sport pedals and unique Sport Recaro floor mats. Recaro seats are, of course, also included, featuring Alcantara upholstery on the cushions and backs with red seat piping and red stitching to finish the look. Red stitching also adorns the dash, leather handbrake cover, and gear lever skirt.
Features in common with the Sport Nav trim include LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, a premium Bose sound system, and the new Mazda MZD-Connect infotainment system with a 7-inch color touchscreen. Sport-tuned Bilstein dampers, a limited-slip differential and strut tower bar, and other carriage enhancements also adorn the Sport Nav and Sport Recaro editions.
The Mazda MX-5 Sport Recaro limited edition is available only in the United Kingdom for special order on a first-come, first-served basis until all 600 units are sold.
