Dacia is rolling into the Paris Motor Show next month with a striking mobile design lab called the Manifesto, a striking electric buggy that showcases outdoors-focused ideas that may or may not make it into future production vehicles.

Many cars now feature touchscreen-controlled infotainment systems, but … why pay for a dashboard-integrated screen, when you've already got one on your phone? That's the thinking behind Dacia's new phone-based Media Control system.

Much of Dacia's recent success is down to the Duster, a low-cost compact four-wheel drive line launched in 2010. The nameplate will enter its third generation in Frankfurt with a bigger, more luxurious take on the formula.

The unlikely star of the Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, which opened yesterday, was Romanian auto manufacturer Renault Dacia which exhibited an ingenious motorhome for 3-4 people with an anticipated price tag of EUR15,000 when it goes on sale in 2010.
