As with the cliche, the Q70 is still capable of doing the basics in life, but when it comes to technology, it’s a bit behind the times. The cliche might hold in some ways, but like the surprising older folks who’re smartphone savvy and talk to Alexa in familiar terms, the Q70 has its own surprises.

A new 2018 Infiniti Q50 sedan was unwrapped at the Geneva Motor show, showcasing a new shift for the luxury automaker. The 2018 Q50 has two body styles, four trim points, and a new suite of driver support tech. These refreshes to the lux sedan are a claimed "glimpse into the future" of Infiniti.

Potential can be such a fickle thing. On paper, the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 has plenty. It's gorgeous, powerful, and hails from a long line of fun Japanese coupes. Unfortunately, it never quite fulfills its promise.

The 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe will enter showrooms soon and in its top-most package, this little luxury coupe offers 400 horsepower of turbocharged goodness to go with its sleek new look and short ergonomics. It's not perfect, but it'll do.

Forget variable length intakes and variable valve timing, Infiniti is going all the way and introducing variable cylinder compression ratios. The new VC-T turbo engine automatically adjusts between a high-powered 8:1 and a hugely efficient 14:1 ratio as you drive.

As promised earlier this year, Infiniti has premiered its Q30 active compact at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle is Infiniti's first entry into the premium compact segment and the carmaker has given it what it calls a "bold character and daring shape" based on the original 2013 concept.

Another car designed for Gran Turismo has been brought into the physical realm. The design was first unveiled in December as a "vision of what a high performance Infiniti could look like in the future." The flesh-and-bones Infiniti Vision GT concept was displayed recently at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Infiniti made sure that 2014, the year of the Vision Gran Turismo, didn't end without one more Vision GT debut. It revealed its simply named Concept Vision Gran Turismo, a curvy racer that provides a "vision of what a high performance Infiniti could look like in the future."

Infiniti is using this year's Paris Motor Show to share its vision for the "upper echelons of the premium sedan category." That vision is the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration, a concept car that pushes Infiniti styling, drive and technology into the future.

Recently in California, million dollar rides went on the auction block for record-breaking figures while classic cars drove about Pebble Beach’s 18th fairway unencumbered. But events like The Quail and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion have proven equally engaging.

What would happen if Infiniti designed a car with the sole intent of pestering Mercedes Benz and BMW performance sedans on their own turf? The Q50 based Eau Rouge concept unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show might be the result. Gizmag was on hand in Detroit to capture the reveal.
