Intermot 2018

Looking at production bikes, you could be forgiven for thinking there's not much real innovation going on in the motorcycle world. And when you see the bizarre and creative and wonderful things custom builders are doing ... well, you get a sense for why manufacturers tend to play it safe!

The Intermot expo, held every year just across the Rhine from Cologne's gargantuan gothic cathedral, is a key date on the international motorcycling calendar. Enjoy a photographic walk through the latest, greatest and wackiest things on two (and three) wheels!

The only brand new models that Kawasaki introduced at the Intermot show were a couple of 125s, a Ninja and a Z, yet people will probably be talking more about the power boost of the supercharged H2. If that was not enough, Kawasaki also updated the ZX-10R family by upgrading all of its versions.

Dubbed as a classic enduro by Moto Guzzi, it created quite a sensation when it was unveiled as a concept last year at the EICMA show in Italy. The V85 TT is an 850-cc adventure bike, built around the V9 series engine, reworked for a substantial power boost and destined to lead a new model family

​Ducati continues its Joyvolution model upgrades with the announcement of three fresh Scrambler motos. The Full Throttle, Café Racer and Desert Sled were revealed earlier today at Intermot 2018 in Cologne, Germany​.​

Suzuki's cult classic Katana is back for 2019, a throwback to what many consider the ultimate 1980s sportsbike. There's no pop-up headlight, but the new Katana 3.0 is a very sexy machine that reminds us that the 80s in now well into the retro zone.
