August 29, 2006 The Fish ‘n Flush two-piece aquarium toilet tank was designed as a source of entertainment and conversation and from the moment it debuted earlier this year at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show in Chicago, it’s been getting serious main media attention. Firstly, let’s be clear that the fish in the aquarium are in no danger of being flushed. Fish-n-Flush is a two-piece aquarium toilet tank with an aquarium that wraps itself around a clear inner tank. The special tank within a tank retails for US$400, and comes with everything but water and fish. Manufacturer AquaOne worked with a marine biologist to develop the technology and produce a certified working aquarium.

Fish-n-Flush comes with gravel, two plastic nine-in plants, a dual filter system, LED lighting at the top, and a built-in feeder, fill valve, overflow tube, flapper, suction pump and two screws. The power is set at 12 volts, so it’s safe for children.

The aquarium will accept fresh water, as well as salt, warm and tropical water. However, no live coral can be inserted.

In addition, the 2.2-gallon aquarium piece can be easily removed for cleaning without obstructing the toilet from working. Cleansers should be non-abrasive or common soap and water. The toilet tank itself holds 2.5 gallons which offers sufficient head pressure to flush properly. The Federal U.S. Flush Law sets the minimum amount at 1.6 gallons.
