Plans have been revealed for a new "Giga-Project" named Qiddiya. The huge project's masterplan is designed by BIG and will measure an incredible 334 square km (129 sq mi). It's envisioned as Saudi Arabia's new capital of entertainment, sports, and arts, and is expected to be finished by 2030.

BIG and Freaks Architecture has completed a new cultural center in Bordeaux. There are several interesting aspects of the design, including a sheltered outdoor space called the "urban living room" and a "periscope" that allows diners in a restaurant to gaze upon the people outside, and vice-versa.

BIG has revealed plans for a greenery-covered tower for the Tivoli amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. Assuming it goes ahead, the H.C. Andersen Hotel project will also include renovations of existing buildings in Tivoli and the creation of a new park nearby.

Shortly after completing the University of Massachusetts' Business Innovation Hub, Bjarke Ingels Group has gone back to school with another educational project named Glasir. The building hosts three different schools on a steep hillside plot overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the Faroe Islands.

Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) recently completed a new extension for the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Named the Business Innovation Hub, the building offers additional study space and social areas, and is defined by an eye-catching copper facade.

Bjarke Ingels Group has experience with floating architecture but its latest proposal is on a much larger scale than before. Working with non-profit Oceanix and MIT's Center for Ocean Engineering, the firm has unveiled an ambitious concept for a floating city with a population of up to 10,000.
