UNStudio has revealed plans for an energy efficient extension to a conference center in the Netherlands. The redesign will add solar power, greenery, and floorspace, and will be defined by an eye-catching cantilevering auditorium.

Snøhetta has completed a remarkably energy-efficient office in Norway. Powerhouse Telemark is estimated to produce more energy than it will require over its entire lifespan, including its construction and its eventual demolition in decades to come.

High-profile Dutch firm MVRDV has been commissioned to design a new office and laboratory in Amsterdam named Matrix 1. The building will boast significant sustainable features, including solar power and a partially green roof.

Planning permission was recently granted for a new shipping container-based office building in London. It'll rise to a height of 26 m (85 ft), making it the world's tallest shipping container-based building once complete and will also boast some sustainable additions, including solar power.

Oslo Airport has received a smart-looking new extension courtesy of Nordic – Office of Architecture. Featuring an interesting curved design, the building is hailed the "world's greenest terminal" by the firm and certainly has some impressive sustainable design.

Construction has begun on a new supertall skyscraper in Warsaw, Poland. Designed by British firm Foster + Partners, the Varso Tower will rise to a height of 310 m (1,017 ft), making it both Poland's tallest tower and the fourth tallest in Europe. It's due to be completed in 2020.

Even her harshest critics could hardly accuse Zaha Hadid of playing it safe, and the starchitect's newest posthumous building reminds us of the self-confidence that typified her work. Port House is intended to resemble a huge glass ship's bow pointing toward the spot that Antwerp was founded.

The Offices With Terraces project, by Nicolas Laisné Associés (NL*A Paris) features plenty of greenery and natural light, offices that open onto small terraces, and corridors that have been moved to the outer edge of the building.
