When we drove the Polaris Slingshot last year, we noted a few things that we thought could use some improvement. Well, Polaris must have listened, as the new 2021 model has a lot of updates that make it one of the funnest vehicles we’ve driven.
-
Polaris has sewn up the exclusive rights to the Zero Motorcycles electric powertrain for snowmobile and off-road use, and it's bringing the first fruits of that partnership to the market later this year with a Zero-powered full-size Ranger UTV.
-
Polaris has announced the 2021 model Slingshot autocycle. The Slingshot is half-motorcycle, half-car with two wheels in front and one in the rear. Propelled by a four-cylinder engine, the 2021 Slingshot now has a shiftable automatic transmission too.
-
The Polaris Slingshot is half car, half motorcycle with a sort of Batmobile-esque design. Sporting a completely new motor and auto transmission for 2020, it's likely the most fun you can have without resorting to a straight up two-wheeler.
-
Whether driving aficionados like it or not, automatic transmissions are fast becoming the standard (no pun intended). Polaris is getting on the bandwagon, as the 2020 version of its Slingshot three-wheeler will be offered with AutoDrive.
-
Twice now, Tanner Godfrey has jumped further in a UTV than anyone in history. Since he doesn't have full use of his legs, he's done it by literally poking the gas and brake pedals with a stick. And on Monday, armed with a new stick, he's lining up for the biggest jump of his life. This guy's nuts.
-
Even though it was first introduced four years ago, the three-wheeled Polaris Slingshot is still quite the attention-getter when spotted "in the wild." Should you wish to stand out even more, however, you might want to pick up the just-announced Grand Touring model.
-
This year, we saw the redesign of one of the world's 4x4 icons, the spread of electric powertrain tech to the trail, all-new racing machines, and a few toys that could lure even the most stubborn homebody into the backcountry. Here we look back at our favorite fun, capable off-roaders of 2017.
-
The side-by-side plot continues to thicken. In recent years, we've seen well-established sports car technologies like turbocharging and paddle shifting make their way over to the side-by-side market. Now Polaris imports another: active suspension.
-
Citing poor market results, Polaris Industries announced its decision to terminate the Victory Motorcycles brand. The process of winding down all Victory-related operations will start immediately, as Polaris concentrates its efforts towards the development of Indian Motorcycles.
-
When Polaris unveiled the Slingshot in 2014, even the company itself was hard-pressed to categorize it. No one then or since has denied just how different this vehicle is, so needless to say we were thrilled when Polaris offered us one for review.
-
Victory Motorcycles has turned a new page by unveiling its first fully electric motorcycle. The 2016 Empulse TT is a road-legal electric streetbike based on Brammo's Empulse R, after the Oregon, US company was acquired by Polaris Industries.
