Our modern lifestyles feature a lot of sitting, and while standing desks can be healthier options, they have their own problems. The new Ergo Desk combines both and adds a third option: a reclining desk, to ease chronic back pain.

Sitting at an office desk all day, every day is generally considered to be bad for our health. Standing desks are here to get you on your feet while working, but the Dual Lift Standing Desk is designed to give your screen an extra lift as well.

​Several years ago, thanks to the claimed health benefits of standing desks, quite a few startup companies were making the things. Now, a group of Chicago-based entrepreneurs have come out with their own unique take on the technology, in the form of the successfully-Kickstarted DeskView.

As more research is revealed about the health detriments of sitting all day, an increasing number of companies is looking for ways to get us up out of our chairs. One of the more recent entries to this market is the Edge Desk, which we got our hands – and knees – on to review.

Humans aren't setup to be squashed into a chair all day, no matter how ergonomic it is claimed to be, but standing all day isn't something we're particularly keen on either. One solution is a sit/stand desk like the Loctek S1L we've been testing.

Some companies are now offering standing desk "converters," that sit on top of a normal desk – some of the fancier ones even let you switch between sitting and standing modes. We recently tried out just such a beast, in the form of BTOD's grandly-named The Duke.​

Standing desks are very popular nowadays and the Altwork Station aims to capitalize on this trend. It allows users to stand, sit, or recline in order to ensure they remain comfortable and productive.

If sitting is so bad for our health, why do we let our kids sit at a desk all day to do their schoolwork? Such is the reasoning behind the StandUp: an adjustable standing desk suitable for both adults and kids from the age of six up.
