Sitting at an office desk all day, every day is generally considered to be bad for our health. Standing desks are here to get you on your feet while working, but the Dual Lift Standing Desk is designed to give your screen an extra lift as well.

​Several years ago, thanks to the claimed health benefits of standing desks, quite a few startup companies were making the things. Now, a group of Chicago-based entrepreneurs have come out with their own unique take on the technology, in the form of the successfully-Kickstarted DeskView.

The health dangers of spending all day sitting behind a desk have become well known in recent years, leading to an explosion in the popularity of standing and sit-stand desks. Now the Deskcise Pro brings a standing desk and an exercise bike together in one integrated unit.

Over the years, we've seen standing desks in cardboard, mini units which are plonked atop a normal desk and motor-assisted designs that go up or down at the push of a button. The DK-05 from Lian Li falls into the latter category, but the chassis also doubles as a case for up two computer.​

As more research is revealed about the health detriments of sitting all day, an increasing number of companies is looking for ways to get us up out of our chairs. One of the more recent entries to this market is the Edge Desk, which we got our hands – and knees – on to review.

Humans aren't setup to be squashed into a chair all day, no matter how ergonomic it is claimed to be, but standing all day isn't something we're particularly keen on either. One solution is a sit/stand desk like the Loctek S1L we've been testing.

Some companies are now offering standing desk "converters," that sit on top of a normal desk – some of the fancier ones even let you switch between sitting and standing modes. We recently tried out just such a beast, in the form of BTOD's grandly-named The Duke.​
