JAXA and Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) have teamed up to develop a "Super Hi-Vision Camera" for JAXA’s Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission that will capture the first 8K ultra-high-definition images in orbit around the Red Planet.

LG has commenced presales of the first OLED TV with 4K resolution. Launching in 65-inch and 77-inch models, the UltraHD display boasts 33 million sub-pixels across a curved screen, flagging the company's intentions for the next generation of display technology.

Following LG and Samsung both unveiling their contenders for the world's largest curved Ultra HD TV at CES, competition between the two Korean electronics giants continues. After Samsung announced last week that it was starting to take pre-orders for its model, LG has quickly followed suit.
