The MINI John Cooper Works GP will be unveiled publicly at Circuit Paul Ricard in southern France today, during the MINI United festival. The limited Edition will be the fastest MINI ever, capable of lapping the Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit in 8 min. 23 seconds, 19 seconds faster than its predecessor, the MINI Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP Kit.
No performance figures other than the highly impressive Nürburgring lap time have been released as yet, though it is known to employ a twin-scroll turbo on the engine.
It won't be hard to recognize the MINI John Cooper Works GP thanks to its huge front and rear aprons, side skirts, roof spoiler and rear diffuser, not to mention having no rear seats. There's also race tires, adjustable race suspension and a race-spec braking system.
