Lord Howe Island stick insects went extinct on their native island in the 1920s and were apparently rediscovered elsewhere decades later. There were questions about whether the living insects were the same species, but now genetic tests confirm that the stick insects really are back from the dead.

Work begins on Canada's tallest skyscraper
Construction work has officially begun on a new supertall skyscraper in central Toronto. Designed by high-profile British architecture firm Foster + Partners, the mixed use building will rise to a height of 306 m (1,003 ft), making it Canada's tallest skyscraper once complete.
