Citroen

  • Citroën plans to show a SpaceTourer Rip Curl Concept at Frankfurt Motor Show on September 14. The Citroën SpaceTourer base vehicle has been converted into a compact 4WD camper-van with a camper-van conversion by Pössl, and a 4x4 conversion by Automobiles Dangel.
  • As emissions standards tighten, you might think International Engine of the Year would go to a clever compact powertrain or an engine that mixes miserly fuel consumption with punchy performance. Turns out the judges weren't thinking that way, and handed this year's award to the a Ferrari V8 instead.
  • It went missing for a while there, but Citroen's unique streak seems to be back with cars like the funky C3 Aircross. Although it looks cute on the outside, the compact Aircross has been designed to deliver all the practicality and tech you'd expect of a bigger beast.
  • Peugeot recently transformed its Expert van into a functional, four-wheeled oyster bar. Not to be outdone in the van conversion game, sister company Citroën has created a mobile bike shop out of not just any van, but a classic Type H.
  • Led by quirky offerings like the C4 Cactus, Citroen has re-established its identity, and quality new products are rolling off the production line. The new C5 Aircross takes the funky looks of the recently-released C3, and scales them up for life as a full-sized crossover.
  • German camper specialist Pössl has made the most innovative Citroën SpaceTourer we've seen, and that's a group that includes the recent SpaceTourer 4x4 Ë. Pössl's Campster uses its compact, modular design to tackle weekend and everyday adventures.
  • Electric vehicles are starting to take, with adopters of the tech faced with cars in a wide range of body styles and price points. Along with practical hatchbacks, families in need of a green-minded load-lugger can move their kids, luggage and more with the Citroen E-Berlingo Multispace.
  • Peugeot is finding its mojo, Citroen has found its funk and Renault is taking on luxury. It seems all is well in France, but there is one brand still struggling to gain a foothold. Citroen spinoff DS is yet to hit its stride, although the high-ups in Paris will be hoping the DS7 can change that.
  • At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Citroën showed a more rugged, all-terrain MPV in the SpaceTourer Hyphen concept. Building on that idea, the new SpaceTourer 4x4 Ë Concept tones down the styling while gaining a few extra reinforcements and traction enhancements.
  • Citroen has found its feet again in recent years, returning to its roots with a range of comfy, quirky cars. If the C-Aircross Concept is anything to go by, that range will soon be growing to include a (handsome) compact four-wheel drive.
  • Just as production cars competed in "reliability trials" to demonstrate their durability and speed to the public, the E-Rally Monte Carlo performs the same purpose for zero emission production vehicles. Toyota's Mirai FCV took victory from two Renault Zoe ZEs, a BMW I3 and a Kia Soul.
  • The Citroën 2CV is one of the most recognizable cars ever made. The Doniselli Duomo is likewise a classic in the world of cargo tricycles. Designer Luca Agnelli recently decided that the two iconic vehicles belonged together, and created an electric-assist trike that combines them.
