USB Type C

Intel has demonstrated a prototype of the next generation of its Thunderbolt interface. The new connection will be up to three times faster than the existing Thunderbolt 4 – at up to 120 Gbps – when it debuts next year.

Forget the metaverse, our own reality just needs a little augmentation. Lenovo has announced a new wearable display called the Lenovo Glasses T1, which can connect to phones and computers to watch video, play games or work on a larger virtual screen.

Dell has pulled the wraps off a shiny new monitor at IFA in Berlin this week. The 27-in display is designed to be crisp and bright, with an ultra-thin profile. Dell calls it the “world’s brightest in its class,” but there’s a few caveats to that claim.

The switch to USB-C means the latest Macbook and Macbook Pro models don’t have the MagSafe power cord. Branch has jumped in to fill the gapand launched MagNeo, a magnetic, breakaway USB-C adapter that provides power, data and video streaming.

LG has announced a couple of new monitors that it will showcase at CES in January. The line includes a 32-inch 4K monitor with HDR capability, aimed at creative professionals and gamers, and an ultra-wide multimedia monitor with Chromecast functionality built in.

​The world’s first USB Type-C headphones, the JBL Reflect Aware C, are now available for order. First announced in back in April, the high-res earphones are sport-focused, and feature adaptive noise cancelling tech.
