We've covered a few of Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini's Jet Capsule compact motorboats since they hit the market back in 2013. The most recent version, which is set to be released in 2024, is dubbed the Jet Capsule Super Sport.

Italian mini-yacht company Jet Capsule has unveiled an updated version of its UFO (Unidentified Floating Object) off-grid floating home. The UFO 2.0 is larger and more refined, and the firm hopes to get this one built with the help of a crowdfunding campaign.

Italian mini yacht-maker Jet Capsule has drawn up a concept for a saucer-shaped UFO, or Unidentified Floating Object, which offers a completely off-grid existence floating on the ocean.

Lazzarini's Jet Capsule "mini yacht" protoype garnered plenty of attention when it was unveiled in 2013, as did the smaller, faster Reptile version earlier this year. Now, a new 2016 public launch version has been announced. It retains its pod-like look and offers a variety of features and options.

The new Jet Capsule Reptile is equipped with a 570 hp Ilmor MV8 high performance marine engine, powering the compact vessel to maximum speeds of 50 knots – that's over 90 km/h (57.5 mph).

The Jet Capsule is a compact water craft measuring 7.5 meters (24.6 ft) long and 3.5 meters (11.5ft) wide. The futuristic looking vessel can be customized to suit a myriad of purposes including a water taxi, emergency water vehicle, patrol boat, scuba diving vessel or recreational cruiser.
