The 2024 model year marks the seventh generation of the Ford Mustang, which is now the last of the American muscle cars with a V8 engine option. Ford has said that the V8 will remain a mainstay in the Mustang for as long as it’s legally possible.

Ford has become the latest in a long line of auto makers to try and break into the ebike market, partnering with e-mobility outfit N+ for a licensing deal to launch full-squish two-wheelers inspired by the Mustang sports car and Bronco off-road SUV.

In Oklahoma there's a company called Classic Recreations that restores or reproduces classic muscle cars but with an injection of modern tech. The company's latest effort is called the "Hitman" and it's a glorious 1969 Mustang Mach 1 restomod with a John Wick-inspired paint job.

What has over 700 horsepower (522 kW) and is the most powerful street-legal Ford ever made? The new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500. Hitting the streets in the third quarter of 2019, the Shelby GT500 has a supercharged V8 and chassis components from Ford’s GT racing programs.

In 1968 a film was released that was to set the standard for car chase scenes. Filmed on location in San Francisco, the film starred Steve McQueen (the “King of Cool”) and a green Ford Mustang GT Fastback. 50 years later, Ford has created an homage to that: the 2019 Mustang Bullitt.

Ford is introducing its latest turnkey race car at the Woodward Dream Cruise as an homage to the original Ford Mustang Cobra Jet, which debuted 50 years ago. The original Cobra Jet hit the drag strip in 1968 and this latest version will have only 68 built.

World champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr has teamed up with Ford to bring a special one-off edition Ford Mustang GT to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Eagle Squadron Mustang GT is a tribute to the pilots of the Royal Air Force during WWII and will be auctioned off to raise money for charity.

Ford Performance has released details on the upgraded 2019 Shelby GT350 Mustang. Tuned to improve lap times on the track, changes to the GT350 Mustang​ include aerodynamic improvements and new tires from Michelin.

This year marks the 50th anniversary for the classic film Bullitt, which featured a 1968 Ford Mustang in the movie's iconic car chase. To mark the occasion, Ford has unveiled the Mustang Bulitt that features a reworked V8 and several exterior and interior features that nod to the original.

Restorations of classic cars are in vogue at the moment, and Shelby American is keen to get in on the action. The team behind the 1965 GT350R, dubbed the Original Venice Crew, will build 36 recreations of that car with an independent suspension setup originally designed by Ford in 1964.
