Standing Desk

Some companies are now offering standing desk "converters," that sit on top of a normal desk – some of the fancier ones even let you switch between sitting and standing modes. We recently tried out just such a beast, in the form of BTOD's grandly-named The Duke.​

There's a lot of mechanically adjustable desks designed to lighten the load for tired typists, and now one office furniture maker wants to give your cubicle the same versatility. The Crossover can be plonked down on any desk and transformed into a raised workstation with a push of a button.

Oristand is a cardboard standing desk priced at just $25. Being made of cardboard has its disadvantages, but the low price is a definite plus that means anyone can use Oristand.

The Ergon Desk is a six-person unit designed to facilitate teamwork in the office. It consists of multiple sit/stand work stations that adapt to the ergonomic needs of individual users.​

The latest of many standing desk solutions, Levit8 takes a simple approach to getting office workers on their feet. Currently looking for funding on Kickstarter, the product is priced low and comes in a convenient form factor.

Aspirus is a desktop workstation designed to take the legwork out of the standing desk. Raising and lowering at the press of a button, the Aspirus lets users keep track of how long they've been sitting or standing, with an onboard sensor array ensuring time away from the desk isn't counted.

Standing desks are very popular nowadays and the Altwork Station aims to capitalize on this trend. It allows users to stand, sit, or recline in order to ensure they remain comfortable and productive.

Sit-to-stand desktops typically have a wide base with a hinged upper platform that can be raised or lowered as required. InMovement's new Elevate range, however, takes a different approach. Three of the four models replace the wide base with a single arm or column.

There are already a lot of adjustable desk solutions on the market in 2015. Now crowdfunding project Torax is getting in on the act with a convenient, highly-adjustable product that hits a pretty reasonable price point.​
