While Hyundai's Ioniq EVs have been racking up awards around the world, they haven't been available in China – until now. The Korean automaker is making a splash there with a big launch – and two wild concept vehicles that are worth a closer look.

What does US$21,000 get you in automotive terms? Kia Soul, Chevrolet Trax, Nissan Versa, Hyundai Venue … You see a trend there, right? None of those cars is electric, and none of them are flagships by any stretch. The bZ7 is all that and more!

BMW is following through with its plan to apply the Neue Klasse design language to its entire all-electric lineup. You can now see it in the beloved 3 series, starting with the i3 50 xDrive electric sedan.

VW added a mild refresh to the Jetta to update its looks a bit, but has otherwise not messed with the car’s basic formula of getting you there on the cheap. Sadly, though, the manual transmission is only available on the sport-centric GLI model.

Kia's got a bunch of new EVs in the pipeline, and I'm especially jazzed about this EV4 sedan. It's set to arrive stateside later this year, and boasts seriously solid range to give the Tesla Model 3 a run for its money.

The Leaf, long the everyman’s EV, was small, practical, and low priced. The Ariya is a good replacement, though it’s neither as cheap nor as small.

The Ioniq 6 is the least logical step on from Hyundai’s well-done Ioniq 5 crossover. But it works. Going from an SUV to a sedan seems counterintuitive, given the way the auto market seems to shun sedans. Yet this is one of the best we’ve driven lately.
