Just when you thought motorcycles couldn’t get any wilder, Yamaha has dropped the sci-fi-inspired Y/AI prototype. It’s built in partnership with Netflix for an anime called Tokyo Override, which is set in a dystopian Tokyo 100 years in the future.

The Benda LFS 700 might look like an outlandish flat-tracker, but it's essentially a naked that resembles an Autobot from Transformers. The 680cc inline-four produces enough power to go toe-to-toe against the more popular naked bikes of today.

Although best known for its bikes, Yamaha is working on a rather gorgeous-looking electric sports coupe with Caterham EVo. The concept debuted last year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and promises 268 horses for its impressively low curb weight.

KTM’s all-new Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) is rolling out on the upcoming 1390 Super Adventure, and the company says it'll change the way we ride motorcycles. It comes with a P–N–1–2–3–4–5–6 gear sequence – and of course, no clutch lever.

Way back in 2016, Yamaha built an actuator into its new TransAcoustic line of acoustic guitars that produced reverb and chorus through the sound hole. The second generation has just launched, and now includes a built-in looper.

It's been ten long years since Yamaha launched the MT-09, an accessible, affordable and very naughty nakedbike, whose 847 cc triple motor put concentrated fun exactly where street riders need it. Now, there's finally a fully-faired R9 sportsbike.

There's little doubt that electric dirt bikes will eventually replace gas-powered ones, much like four-strokes replaced two-strokes. The XE4 by Xtreme Electric MX (XEMX) converts Yamaha 250 and 450 YZF/YZFX to high-powered electrics.

Torqeedo, a major innovator of all-electric boat motors, is trying to further improve its clean track record. It's deep in the works on a new version of its iconic bright-orange propeller that's crafted from 100% recycled plastic.

Yamaha previously announced it would show a prototype hydrogen outboard at the 2024 Miami Boat Show. Instead of simply revealing the motor, it's installed it on a prototype boat complete with fuel delivery system. Testing will begin this year.

Yamaha may be the largest, most well-known outboard manufacturer in Japan, but Tohatsu was the country's first. Tohatsu remains a venerable force in outboard production today and is now teaming with Ilmor on an all-electric global outboard family.

The world's largest music gear expo is set to open its doors next week, and Yamaha has popped up early with a groove machine called the Seqtrak that could have jumped straight out of Teenage Engineering's design playbook.

Yamaha has become an early leader in hydrogen engine development for autos, and now it's looking to launch its hydrogen-combustion program into the water. Its new hydrogen outboard prototype will debut at the 2024 Miami International Boat Show.
